Configured for six-channel temperature measurement in the 3500 Machinery Monitoring System, the Bently Nevada 3500/61 (3500/61 Temperature Monitor Module) accepts RTD and thermocouple signals, conditions each input, compares measured values with programmable Alert and Danger setpoints, and provides individual +4 to +20 mA recorder outputs.

Rotor Dynamics and Temperature Signal Integrity

The 3500/61 processes temperature signals as part of the machinery monitoring architecture. Unlike eddy-current displacement channels, RTD and thermocouple inputs do not require probe gap-voltage scaling. Instead, the monitor conditions the selected sensor signal and evaluates it against configured alarm limits.

Furthermore, the TC-isolated I/O option provides channel-to-channel electrical isolation. This configuration can reduce the effects of external electrical interference when separate temperature circuits operate in the same monitoring installation.

The module supports Type E, J, K, and T thermocouples together with specified platinum, nickel, and copper RTDs. Therefore, the sensor type and wiring arrangement must match the configured channel and installed I/O hardware.
