The 3500/42M processes proximity and seismic transducer signals for machinery vibration and position measurements. The configuration software assigns measurement functions to channel pairs, including radial vibration, thrust position, differential expansion, eccentricity, acceleration, velocity, shaft absolute, and REBAM measurements.

For eddy-current proximity measurements, the module uses the configured probe scaling to convert the electrical input into the corresponding vibration or position value. Therefore, probe type, signal scaling, and measurement configuration must match the installed transducer system.

The buffered outputs provide access to raw transducer signals for external analysis. This arrangement allows technicians to verify the physical signal independently from the processed measurement value.
