PACSystem RX3i Output Group Architecture
The IC694MDL754 divides its 32 outputs into two groups of 16 channels. Each group provides electrical isolation from the other group. Therefore, field wiring can use the two output groups as separate isolated DC output sections within the same module.
The module supports 12/24 VDC operation and accepts an output voltage range of 10.2-30.0 VDC. Each output point supports up to 0.75 A switching current. In addition, the module incorporates short-circuit, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection with automatic recovery.
The module draws up to 300 mA from the 5 VDC backplane bus. Field-side isolation also separates the output circuitry from the backplane and frame ground.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: How are the 32 output channels divided?
A: The module provides two isolated output groups. Each group contains 16 channels.
Q: What DC load current can each output point switch?
A: Each output point has a specified switching current of 0.75 A.
Q: What terminal blocks are compatible with IC694MDL754?
A: The specified terminal blocks are IC694TBB032 in box-style construction and IC694TBS032 in spring-style construction.
Field Installation Guidelines
Install the IC694MDL754 in the designated PACSystem RX3i rack position and secure the module according to the rack assembly procedure. Verify that the terminal block matches the installed wiring method before connecting field conductors.
Separate the two 16-channel output groups during wiring. Confirm the external DC supply polarity and verify that the connected load remains within the module’s 10.2-30.0 VDC output range and 0.75 A per-point switching specification.
Route DC output wiring separately from high-energy AC conductors and high-noise power circuits where practical. Use appropriate conductor insulation, terminal identification, and overcurrent protection for the connected field circuit.
Before energizing the rack, inspect terminal seating and field wiring for shorts or polarity errors. The module provides automatic recovery for its specified short-circuit, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection functions, but external circuit protection remains part of the field installation design
