Overview
The Honeywell FC-SDI-1624 is a 16-channel safe digital input module in the FSC / Safety Manager series. It accepts 24 Vdc field signals and uses a fail-to-safe design to maintain high system reliability. Honeywell engineers this module for rugged industrial safety monitoring and protects it with a durable conformal coating.
In addition, the SDI-1624 provides sixteen 24 Vdc digital input channels that continuously deliver secure data acquisition. Its fail-to-safe input stage ensures that any component fault immediately drives the channel into a de-energized state, which represents the safe condition in normally energized systems. Meanwhile, the remaining logic circuitry is fully monitored by the system’s built-in self-test functions.
Furthermore, within each configured diagnostic test interval, the module undergoes detailed checks. These include verifying its ability to receive logic level ‘0’ signals, confirming correct response to logic level ‘1’ signals, and ensuring there is no crosstalk between input channels. By combining these diagnostic features with robust design, the FC-SDI-1624 strengthens overall plant safety and reliability.
