Overview
I/O Configuration
The module combines analog input and output functions in one remote I/O device. The eight analog inputs acquire field measurement signals, while the four analog outputs provide non-safety-related analog signal outputs. This configuration allows input monitoring and output control through a single device.
Analog Signal Characteristics
The input channels support voltage and current measurement. In addition, the input range includes 0 to 10 VDC and 0/4 to 20 mA using a 500 ohm shunt. The module provides 12-bit resolution, allowing the controller to process measured analog values for monitoring and safety-related functions.

The four analog outputs provide a 0 to 20 mA output range. However, these outputs are not inherently safety-related. Therefore, applications requiring a safety-related output function must use output readback through safety-related analog inputs and evaluate the values in the user program.

Communication and Diagnostics
The F3 AIO 8/4 01 communicates with its associated controller through HIMA SafeEthernet. It has two RJ45 Ethernet ports with an integrated switch and supports 10/100Base-T communication. Furthermore, front-panel LED indicators show operating voltage, system status and communication status. Maintenance personnel can also access diagnostic history through the programming tool.
