Overview
The TU844 MTU supports up to 8 I/O channels and 2+2 process voltage connections. Moreover, each channel provides two I/O connections and one ZP connection. Input signals connect through individual shunt sticks, TY801, which enable selection between voltage and current input. Each channel handles a maximum rated voltage of 50 V and a maximum rated current of 2 A.
In addition, the MTU distributes two ModuleBuses—one to each I/O module and another to the next MTU in the network. It also ensures correct addressing of the I/O modules by shifting outgoing position signals to the subsequent MTU, maintaining smooth communication across the system.
For installation, you can mount the MTU on a standard DIN rail, and its mechanical latch securely locks it in place. Furthermore, four mechanical keys—two for each I/O module—allow users to configure the MTU mechanically for different I/O module types. This configuration only affects the physical setup and does not interfere with the MTU’s or I/O module’s functionality. Each key provides six positions, offering a total of 36 possible configurations, which enhances flexibility for various system setups.
