Bachmann Industrial Control and Communication Architecture

The MX200 processor modules use the Bachmann M200 backplane interface for I/O subsystem communication. The integrated process-image controller provides cyclic and event-driven single-channel access to connected I/O resources.

Furthermore, the processor generates synchronization pulses for I/O and fieldbus operations. This allows application tasks to coordinate process data acquisition and output handling within the controller architecture.

The Ethernet interface provides 10/100 Base-TX communication. MX213 and MX220 provide two RJ45 Ethernet ports, while MX207 provides one port. The Ethernet interfaces support AutoNegotiation and AutoCrossing.

The serial subsystem includes one RS-232 interface and one configurable RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 interface. In addition, the integrated CAN interface supports CAN, CANopen, and J1939 communication at rates up to 1 Mbit/s.
